INTER UNIT GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP – 2024
The Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay emerged as the overall champions at the Seventh Inter-Unit Golf Tournament, held on 3rd and 4th December 2024 at the prestigious Eagles’ Heritage Golf Course in Anuradhapura.

The awards ceremony was graced by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa and attended by the Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Wickremaratne, Deputy Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Suresh Fernando and Chairman of SLAF Golf, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekera and other senior officers.

The game consisted of 18 holes in two rounds on the course and for the first time in the history  total of 99 players participated in the tournament including 33 lady golfers. SLAF Academy China Bay team displayed their skills in such fashion that enabled to grab the Championship with 81 points scored as per the stable ford scoring System while the SLAF Base Ratmalana team clinched the Runners-Up. The tournament had two events simultaneously with the Inter Unit Championship as Open Championship, Open for Over 45 years category. The Commander of the Air Force won the Open over 45 title during the tournament.

The awards ceremony was held at the Club House of the Eagle’s Heritage Golf Course during the afternoon of the same day.
