INTER-UNIT BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP – 2025

The finals and awards ceremony of the Inter-Unit Baseball Championship – 2025 took place yesterday (14 March 2025) at the SLAF Trade Training School, Ekala, under the guidance of the Chairman of Air Force Baseball Air Commodore Chandimal Hettiarachchi. The Director General of Ground Operations, Air Commodore Ruwan Chandima, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
In the Women’s Championship, the SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, emerged victorious while the Air Force Academy China Bay, secured the runner-up position in the final match.
In the Men’s Championship, SLAF Base Anuradhapura claimed the title with Technical Formations of SLAF Base Katunayake finishing as runners-up.
The event was attended by the Director Trade Training and Commanding Officer of SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, Air Commodore Kolitha Abeysinghe, along with members of the Air Force Sports Council and other distinguished guests.

Men’s Championship
• Best Fielder: Corporal Muditha Kumara BAE (Technical Formations, SLAF Base Katunayake)
• Best Batter: Corporal Nadeesha WJ (SLAF Base Anuradhapura)
• Best Pitcher: Squadron Leader KMBR Konara (Technical Formations, SLAF Base Katunayake)
• Most Valuable Player: Sergeant Kumara BML (SLAF Base Anuradhapura)
