CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY OF THE NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS' MANAGEMENT COURSES
The Non-Commissioned Officers' Management School at SLAF Academy China Bay conducted the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the No. 19 English Medium and No. 90 Sinhala Medium Non-Commissioned Officers' Management Courses today (11 April 2023) under the guidance of the Commandant SLAF Academy China Bay, Air Commodore SDGM Silva. The Deputy Director of Logistics in the Directorate of Logistics, Air Commodore SMSP Koswatta graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest was received by the Commanding Officer of the Non-Commissioned Officers' Management School, Wing Commander RND Senadheera.
The primary objective of conducting this course is to transfer sound academic and managerial knowledge and sharpen leadership qualities among the Non-Commissioned Officers of the Tri-Forces and Police. The course was encapsulated in a well-formed syllabus over a scheduled period of 14 weeks. Both courses are affiliated with the University of Rajarata, and all Non-Commissioned Officers who fulfilled the required criteria were awarded a Certificate in Management.
The No. 19 English Medium and No. 90 Sinhala Medium comprised 77 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers, 64 Junior Non-Commissioned Officers from the SLAF, two Senior Non-Commissioned Officers from the SL Navy, two Senior Non-Commissioned Officers from the SL Police for the first time in history, and three Junior Non-Commissioned Officers from the SL Army. At the ceremony, 141 awardees received certificates to mark the successful completion of the courses.
Sergeant Egodawatta (Administrative Assistant) and Corporal Kuliyapitiya (Dental Technician I) were awarded as the Best All-Round Senior and Junior Non-Commissioned Officers of the No. 19 English Medium Course, while Sergeant Amarasooriya SP (Accounts Assistant) and Corporal Wijerathna WKMWYB (Administrative Assistant) were awarded as the Best All-Round Senior and Junior Non-Commissioned Officers of the No. 90 Sinhala Medium Course. Other special award winners are as follows.
