SLAF Plants 100000 Trees

Under the direction of the Commander of the Air Force, the SLAF commenced the island wide tree planting campaign at the auspicious time of 10.07 this morning.

The main event was in Ekala, where Hon. Minister of Economic Development Mr.Basil Rajapaksa  MP planted a ‘Na’ sapling on the premises of the Trade Training School at Sri Lanka Air Force Station Ekala.

Three thousand saplings were planted within SLAF Station Ekala while, a novel door to door tree planting campaign was carried out on the direction of the Commander of the Air Force Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke, and organized by Group Captain Janaka Amarasinghe Commanding Officer SLAF Staion Ekala. This novel project was mooted to educate and encounter the populace of the importance, trees and to ensure full participation Tree planting was also carried out at all SLAF Bases, Stations and Units, including Air Force Headquarters.
