The Basketball Finals of the 13th Defence Services Games 2024/2025, organized by the Sri Lanka Navy, were successfully held today (24 July 2025) at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex, Welisara and the tournament concluded with thrilling performances, highlighting the growing competitiveness and high standards of Basketball within the Tri-services.

The SLAF Women’s Basketball team emerged victorious with a narrow 46-45 win over the SL Navy Women’s Basketball team, securing this title for the third consecutive year. In the Men’s category, the SL Army emerged and clinched the Championship title with a hard-fought 79-65 win over the SLAF in an intense and tactical final match. The SLAF men’s team secured the Runners-up position. 

The occasion was graced by Rear Admiral HK Dassanaike as the Chief Guest. Also, the finals were witnessed by the Chairman of Army Basketball, Major General MN Fernando, Chairman of SLAF Basketball, Air Commodore WPAH Perera, Chairman of Navy Basketball, Captain NCPN Nanayakkara, Secretary Air Force Sports Council, Group Captain DE Geeganage, Secretary SLAF Basketball, Group Captain HKH Dias, members of the Air Force Sports Council, Senior Officers and other ranks.
