As a special welfare initiative for members of the Air Force Ex-Servicemen’s Association (AFESA), Dr. IYM Haniff, Chairman and Founder of the JJ Foundation Colombo, partnered with AFESA to provide high-quality free eyeglasses to its members. The first phase of the programme, covering 16 recipients, was successfully conducted on 17 May 2026 at the Eagles Skylink Complex, Guwanpura.

During the event, Dr. Haniff expressed his intention to continue the initiative in future phases, serving groups of 15 members at a time. The President of AFESA conveyed appreciation to the JJ Foundation for its valuable support towards the wellbeing of Air Veterans.

Accordingly, the second batch list of 15 eligible members under Phase II was officially handed over to Dr. Haniff by Air Vice Marshal Hemantha Soysa (Retd).

The event was attended by members of the Lions Club, Executive Committee members and Presidents/Secretaries of affiliated associations.
