The Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Air Force Ex-Servicemen's Association,
led by President, Air Vice Marshal Elmo Perera (Retd) and comprising Ex-Warrant
Officer Sarath Kumara (Secretary), Air Commodore Amal Wimalarathne (Retd) as VP
11 and Flight Lieutenant Sugath Rajapaksa (Retd), the immediate past president,
called on the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath
Thuiyakotha (Retd), today (13 November 2024), at the Defence Headquarters.
The delegation discussed matters related to the welfare and benefits of Ex-Servicemen,
including pension schemes, healthcare facilities, and other support services. They
also presented the association's annual report and highlighted key achievements
and challenges faced by the organization.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence commended the association for its
dedication to serving the Ex-Servicemen community. He assured the delegation of
the Ministry's commitment to addressing their concerns and working towards
improving the welfare of retired military personnel.
The meeting was a significant step in strengthening the partnership between the
Ministry of Defence and the Ex-Servicemen's Association, ensuring that the
contributions of retired personnel are duly recognized and supported.
