The 5th leg of the “Guwan Mithudam” project was conducted at SLAF Station Morawewa on 29 March 2021. During this community project the “Drinking Water Project” was officially handed over to the Diulwewa residents and also the Morawewa Yayahaya Vidyalaya at Diulwewa was renovated and gift packs were distributed among the school children on same day.
Diulwewa is a rural village facing numerous difficulties of find drinking water for daily requirements. Therefore, this event was organized under the series of “Guwan Mithudam” projects of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit along with SLAF Station Morawewa in view of strengthening those in need close to SLAF Establishment.
The occasion which took place at the Morawewa Yayahaya Vidyalaya was graced by the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana as the Chief Guest. Mrs. Rosy Labrooy the spouse of the Director Ground Operation, Mrs. Nirodha Thennakoon the spouse of the Director Welfare, Mrs. Ajantha Jayawardana the spouse of Acting Director Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Group Captain HTH Dharmadasa, the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Morawewa, a cross section of Officers and Other Ranks of SLAF Station Morawewa along with the staff of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit participated for the event.
