Guwan Mithudam Project

The ‘Guwan Mithudam’ a novel concept based on charity services, fledged by Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit,In view of strengthening and facilitating the needy around the country linked up with all Sri Lanka Air Force establishments.

Several Community Service Projects have been implemented by all SLAF establishments as the initial steps of this specific concept. The Chairperson, together with the Seva Vanitha Unit extended their utmost support for this programme which was organized and launched initially by SLAF Bases Anuradhapura and Vavuniya. .

A ‘Guwan Mithudam' Community Service Project, organized by the Seva Vanitha Unit of SLAF Station Bandaranaike International Airport, successfully concluded at Abhayaraja Primary School- Andiambalama yesterday (30 October 2024).

A ‘Guwan Mithudam' project was successfully completed today (21 October 2024) at Mabima Vidyakara Maha Vidyalaya, Makewita by the SLAF Trade Training School, Ekala, under the guidance of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa.

The 33rd phase of ‘Guwan Mithudam’ project was successfully concluded at the Korahedigoda Tsunami village, Ahangama yesterday (06 June 2022) by SLAF Station Koggala under the guidance of the Chairperson Seva Vaniha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana. The renovated water project was handed over to the residents of Korahedigoda Tsunami Village by Commanding Officer SLAF Station Koggala, Group Captain Thilina Rajapaksha.

The 31st phase of “Guwan Mithudam” project was successfully concluded at the “Vidyavimukti Temple Kumburupitiya” today (05 April 2022) by SLAF Academy China Bay under the guidance of the Chairperson Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana. The water project was handed over to the residents of Kumburupitiya by the Acting Commandant, Air Commodore Chandima Alwis.

The 30th phase of the Guwan Mithudam project was successfully completed yesterday (04 April 2022) at the Samagipura, Mahadiulwewa area by the SLAF Station Morawewa under the guidance of the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana. Thereby, a water purification plant was successfully installed and handed over to general public.

The 29th phase of the Guwan Mithudam project was successfully completed yesterday (24 March 2022) at the “Ceylon School for Deaf and Blind” at Ratmalana by SLAF Base Ratmalana under the guidance of the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana. During this community project the library building was renovated and handed over to the school children.

The 28th phase of “Guwan Mithudam” project was successfully completed at Kadirana Primary School yesterday (22 March 2022) by SLAF Base Katunayake under the guidance of the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana. During this community project the library building was renovated and handed over to the school children including a donation of required Library Books for Kadirana Primary School.  

The 27th phase of “Guwan Mithudam” project was successfully concluded at “Darmapala Bosath Lama Niwasaya” today (09 March 2022) by Sri Lanka Air Force Base Hingurakgoda in parallel to the celebration series of International Women’s Day. The Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The 26th phase of “Guwan Mithudam” Project, installation of drinking water supply system for the community of Nochchikulama, Anuradhapura was successfully concluded and handed over to the public, today (09 February 2022) by Sri Lanka Air Force Base Anuradhapura.
