Housing Project

This Housing project is conducted to help service personnel and civilians in the Air Force who are not in a position to realize the dream of an own house by virtue of extreme difficulties.

The "Guwan Manudam" Housing Project, initiated by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, aims to enhance the quality of life for the beneficiaries (house warming)

The "Guwan Manudam" Housing Project has been launched with the aim of providing housing for the families of serving members who have deceased after the year 2009, as well as improving the quality of life for their beneficiaries.

As a part of this initiative, a complete house was constructed for the late Sergeant Bandara EMRW, who passed away on 21 October 2021. This project was carried out under the auspices of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and was presented to the children of the late Airman, as his spouse had also passed away. The house warming ceremony was held yesterday (10 May 2023) at Ulpathgama, Galenbidunuwewa, with the presence of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana, as the Chief Guest.

The partially constructed house of Corporal Pathiranage J (deceased), who died on 24 December 2022  was fully renovated and completed under the patronage of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and handed over to the spouse of the deceased Airman. The house warming ceremony held today (06 April 2023) at Sri Saddathissa Mawatha, Kindelpitiya, with the participation of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana as the Chief Guest.

A house constructed under the patronage of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit was handed over to Sergeant Fernando KPPS. The house warming ceremony held today (16 March 2023) at Kadawala Road, Ambanpola with the participation of the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana as the chief guest.

A house constructed by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit was handed over to Warrant Officer MGDN Munasinghe. The house warming ceremony was held today (24 August 2022) at Kurunduwaththa kadaweediya, Pallepitiya with the graceful presence of the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana.

In parallel to the celebrations of the International Women's Day, SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit kicked off series of events commencing from a house warming ceremony of newly constructed house for Leading Aircraftwoman De Silva DTD. The House Warming Ceremony was held today (07 March 2022) at Samanala Uyana, Kalupe, Hikkaduwa with the participation of the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana.

In appreciation of the courage and perseverance of Corporal Abeysundara R who could imprint his name in the Asian record book bringing fame and glory to Sri Lanka, a special project was initiated by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit under the instruction and directives of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, to renovate his house to a fully constructed house. The House Warming Ceremony project was successfully completed under the guidance of the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana.

A house constructed by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) was handed over to Flight Sergeant Rathnasiri MP. The House Warming Ceremony was held yesterday (01 July 2021) under the patronage of the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana at Gangaragolla, Udupussallawa. The previous house of this Senior Non Commissioned Officer was heavily damaged due to a landslide and thus the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit stepped in to provide him and his family with an entirely new house.
