The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit conducted a blood donation campaign today (21 May 2021) at the Riffle Green Ground of SLAF Station Colombo in collaboration with the ‘Apeksha’ Hospital Maharagama. The campaign was conducted under the guidance of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana.

The main aim of this campaign was to donate blood for the Blood Bank of ‘Apeksha’ Cancer Hospital Maharagama due to heavy demand of blood products during the prevailing pandemic situation in the country.

The Director Health Services of the SLAF, Air Vice Marshal Lalith Jayaweera, the Air Secretary, Air Commodore Prasanna Balasuriya and the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Colombo, Air Commodore Dilshan Wasage, Officers, Other Ranks and Civil Staff of Station Colombo participated for the event. The event was held while adhering to health restrictions.
