The 25th phase of “Guwan Mithudam” project successfully concluded at “Vavuniya Nedunkulama Government Sinhala Mixed School” today (09 February 2022) by Sri Lanka Air Force Base Vavuniya. The Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Vavuniya Nedunkulama Government Sinhala Mixed School facilitates for 71 underprivileged students in the area. New ceiling panels were installed for the entire school buildings including Principal’s Office. Moreover, Buddha’s shrine and ablution blocks were renovated, painted and handed over to the school children. The stationery items were donated among the school children on same day. The entire school premises and playground were cleaned in view of improving the learning environment of the students.
This project was funded by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and SLAF Base Vavuniya. The Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya, Group Captain Pradeep Piyarathne, a cross section of officers and other ranks at SLAF Base Vavuniya, teachers, students and their parents, staff of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit attended to witness the occasion. The entire event held under the health guidelines in view of prevention of COVID-19.
