In a significant achievement, another phase of the "Guwan Mithudam" initiative was successfully executed at Padiyapelella Maha Vidyalaya in Hanguranketha yesterday (29 August 2023). Spearheaded by SLAF Station Piduruthalagala, this accomplishment was made possible under the guidance of Chairperson Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa.

The "Araliya Hall," a classroom building with a history spanning over 75 years, has been meticulously revitalized in this endeavor. The renovation efforts culminated in the official handover of the refurbished structure to the principal of Padiyapelella Maha Vidyalaya. The Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Piduruthalagala, Group Captain Thushara Bandara, led this pivotal moment.

Financial assistance for the project was jointly provided by the Seva Vanitha Unit and SLAF Station Piduruthalagala. This timely initiative  directly impacts approximately 400 students enrolled at the school, affording them enhanced learning environments. The event was attended by a cross-section of officers and other ranks of the station.
