The ‘Guwan Mithudam’ CSR project was successfully concluded today (27 October 2023) at Nalanda Vidyalaya by SLAF Academy China Bay. This project was initiated under the guidance of the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa.
The project was set in motion to fully renovate the science laboratory of the school in order to create a conducive setting and facilitate the students to reach broader horizons while elevating the quality of the education the school provides. Approximately 432 students receive their education from this school and science laboratory of the school has been in subpar condition for a considerable time due to prolonged use. The project was commenced in September 2023 and was completed under the supervision of the Commandant of the SLAF Academy China Bay, Air Commodore NHDN Dias. The renovated laboratory was handed over to the students by the President of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the SLAF Academy China Bay, Mrs. Rashomani Dias.
Financial assistance for the project was jointly provided by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and SLAF Academy China Bay. The ceremony was attended by a cross-section of Officers, other rankers and representatives from the school including the principal, teachers and students.
