A special donation programme was held today (10 July 2024) at the SLAF Headquarters in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte to provide valuable hearing aid equipment to two deserving children of serving Air Force members. The event was organized under the auspices of the Chairperson of the Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa.
The two recipients, diagnosed with severe hearing impairment, received hearing aids through the "Husma Plan" initiative of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, which was made possible by the generosity of donors and well-wishers. This project was identified as crucial in ensuring a secure and brighter future for these children.
A hearing aid valued at 1.6 million rupees was donated to the one-year-and-two-month-old son of Corporal Warnasooriya WMJR. Additionally, a hearing aid valued at 1.8 million rupees was donated to the twelve-year-old son of Leading Aircraftman Ruwan Kumara HV.
The benevolent donors who contributed to this worthy cause include Venerable Banagala Upathissa Thero, Mr. PJ Wijesinghe, Captain Chamaka Kularathne, Mr. Arshad Perera, Mr. MUS Silva, Mr. Rayan Telling, Mr. Kanishka Muruththettuwegama, Mr. Manjula Gunawardena, Mrs. Thilani Abeysinghe, Mr. Janaka Wickramanayaka, Mr. Hiran Ajith Karunaratne, Mr. Ruwan K (Ananda College OBA), Air Vice Marshal KGDN Jayasinghe, Mr. Darmatilaka, Mrs. Yamuna Walpola, Mrs. Yamuna De Silva, Mr. Lalith Jayasundara, Group Captain Nalaka Athukorala and Mr. UKTN De Silva.

In addition, senior members of the Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, Air Commodore Ruwan Chandima, Air Secretary, members of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, a cross section of officers and other rankers attended this event.
