SLAF SEVA VANITHA UNIT CONCLUDES 'GUWAN MITHUDAM' PROJECT WITH NEW WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM FOR KUDIRIPPU RANGAN PRE-SCHOOL AND VILLAGE

A 'Guwan Mithudam' Community Service project was successfully concluded today (08 September 2024) at Kudirippu Rangan Pre-school and Village, facilitated by SLAF Station Iranamadu. The Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa, graced the event as the chief guest and the new water supply system was officially handed over to the children of the pre-school and to the village community.

The project was carried out under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Iranamadu, Group Captain Lakmal Jayathilake and coordinated by the Officer in Charge of Station Seva Vanitha Unit, Flight Lieutenant RM Rajapaksha. Under the guidance of the Chairperson, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa 100 dry ration packs were distributed to the needy families of the village, who are experiencing financial hardships. Additionally, lunch was provided for all the pre-school children and needy families of the village.

The project was initiated by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and a benevolent well-wisher, Mr. Philip Rajanayagam Constantine, joined hands with the ‘Husma’ plan by donating one million rupees to fund this entire project while the manpower was provided by the SLAF Station Iranamadu.

The ceremony was attended by President Seva Vanitha Unit of Air Force Station Iranamdu, Mrs. Krishanthi Dassanayaka, senior members of the Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, staff of the Seva Vanitha Unit, officers and other rankers of SLAF station Iranamadu, children of the pre-school and villagers of Kudirippu Rangan village.
