The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit conducted the ‘මාතෘ වරුණ’ programme in line with International Women’s Day 2025 today (10 March 2025) at Air Force Headquarters, Sri Jayewardenepura. The event was organized under the guidance and initiative of the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, to honour and support women embracing the journey of motherhood.
The programme featured insightful lectures by esteemed speakers. Mrs. Chandani Bandara conducted a session on well-being during pregnancy, offering valuable guidance on maintaining physical and mental health for expectant mothers. Following this, Dr. Upali Marasinghe delivered a session on the spiritual entry into motherhood, highlighting the emotional and psychological transformation women undergo during pregnancy.
As a gesture of appreciation and support, gift packs were distributed to all attendees at the event. Additionally, 130 pregnant servicewomen across all SLAF establishments will receive gift packs to celebrate their journey into motherhood.
