The Sri Lanka Air Force Base in Vavuniya conducted a Community Service initiative yesterday (31 July 2025) at Sri Gunananda Vidyalaya, a rural school that currently educates 84 children from nearby villages. The programme was organized with the objective of enhancing the educational experience of the students up to the scholarship level.
This meaningful initiative was a collective effort by the members of the Seva Vanitha Unit of SLAF Base Vavuniya, along with all officers and service personnel of the Base.
As part of the initiative, the students were treated to a specially arranged lunch, ensuring they received a nutritious meal to support their well-being and learning. In addition, essential stationery items were donated under the guidance of the Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya, Air Commodore Asela Kuruwita. This generous contribution is intended to provide the students with the necessary resources to support and enrich their academic pursuits.
