SLAF SEVA VANITHA UNIT HANDS OVER NEW CLASSROOM BUILDING TO GALENBIDUNUWEWA HURULUWEWA VAM IURA SCHOOL

The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit handed over a newly constructed classroom building to Galenbidunuwewa Huruluwewa Vam Iura School yesterday (24 March 2026), supporting education in a rural community.

This project, carried out in collaboration with Sri Lankan well-wishers living in Bangladesh, aims to improve the learning environment for children in the area. The school, located in a remote part of the Anuradhapura District, serves around 750 students who have long faced challenges due to limited classroom facilities.

The Seva Vanitha Unit facilitated the construction of two classrooms, complete with desks and chairs, to provide a more suitable environment for teaching and learning. The project was supervised by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, with construction managed by the SLAF Civil Engineering Wing and coordination handled by SLAF Base Anuradhapura.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, Director General Civil Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Vajira Senadeera, Base Commander of SLAF Base Anuradhapura, Air Commodore Pradeep Piyarathne and other members of the Seva Vanitha Unit.

The support from Sri Lankan well-wishers in Bangladesh made this project possible and assisted to provide better classroom facilities for the students.
