SLAF MIG-27 Crash in Dummalasooriya

MIG 27 fighter Jet belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force No. 12 Jet Squadron at Katunayake crashed today in Dummalasooriya, 17 nautical miles away from Katunayake while on a routine training mission. Pilot (Flight Lieutenant Tharidu Herath) executed   a controlled ejection and is safe .No damage to life or properties have been reported on ground.

Further investigations into the incident is being conducted by a  following board appointed the Commander of the Air Force.
