The Australasia 3Gun Championship organized by the international practical shooting confederation is scheduled to be held from 17 to 29 October 2009. The event will be hosted in the Philippines by the Philippine practical shooting association, in which they plan to conduct courses of fire in all three disciplines namely Handgun, Shotgun and Rifle.

A total of 10 participants and 03 other officials will be representing Sri Lanka at the event. The team members mostly comprise of the defence services, where Sri Lanka National Champion Airwoman Weerasinghe and Airwomen Prasdika will also participate. Furthermore, Air Commodore Kirishan Yahampath will be acting as the manager of this contingent.
