No 4 VVIP/VIP Helicopter Squadron Celebrates its 47th Anniversary

The No 4 VVIP/VIP Helicopter
squadron of the SLAF celebrated its 47th anniversary on June 1st, 2012.
The event was marked by a “Shramadana” at the Blind School, Ratmalana,
where the members of No 4 Squadron spent a day of cleaning up the
surroundings and environment of the school.
The Commanding Officer of the squadron handed over two book cases to the Manager of the Blind School, providing an essential requirement of the school.
The squadron also celebrated with a sports morning following the working parade. The squadron divided in to 4 teams, comprising of Officers and Airmen alike and held a 10 over cricket tournament.
The event was a great opportunity to mark the achievements of the squadron, of having transported heads of state and other delegates in around the country in its 47 years of service.
