Annual Commander's Inspection of SLAF Sigiriya

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, conducted the Annual Commander’s Inspection of SLAF Station Sigiriya on 14th June 2013. The Commander upon the arrival for the inspection was received by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Sigiriya Wing Commander CP Gunathilake and was afforded a street lining which was commanded by Flight Lieutenant EG Ravindra.
During the course of the inspection covering all the areas of the Station, the Commander declared open the Hospitality Management School which established with an intention to be the centre of excellence in providing quality training for logistic personnel, future hoteliers, restaurateurs and personnel engaged in tourism to equip with functional knowledge, skills and right attitudes. In addition to that the Commander also declared open the newly constructed building for the Station Signal Section.
On conclusion of the inspection the Commander addressed the Officers, Airmen, Airwomen and the Civilian staff of the Station. During the address he highlighted the importance of the development carried out in the Station and described the value of implementing more new projects. He further emphasized that all members of the SLAF should maintain the highest standards both inside and outside the SLAF. He also stated that the SLAF reputation which has been built up through the generations should be maintained and that the high level of discipline should continue.
