Angampora Training for SLAF Personnel has Advanced an Another Step

Taking a step further to the concept introduced by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama in 2012 to promote the indigenous martial art of ‘Angampora’, training of the second batch of RSF, SABF and first batch of Cabin Attendants commenced at the “Angampora Training Area” SLAF Base Ratmalana on 2nd December 2013.
Accordingly, thirty RSF, ten SABF and eighteen Cabin Attendants commenced training with the attendance of Chairman Angampora Gp Capt CB Labrooy, Secretary Wg Cdr PKDNS Pitigala and Korathota Angam Muhandiram Dr. Ajantha Mahantharachchi.
A briefing for all participants was conducted by the Chairman and by the Korathota Angam Muhandiram followed by the traditional formalities and taking of the oath. Subsequently, the participants and instructors were treated with refreshments consisting of traditional eats.
In addition to above, Angampora training is also been conducted for the first batch of children of Air Force personnel at the ‘Kamatha’ BMICH and applications were called for enrolment of the second batch, which is due to commence early next year.
