Opening ceremony of the Brass Bell and “Dolosmahe Pahana” at Sri Pada

The opening ceremony of the Brass Bell and Dolosmahe Pahana (eternal flame oil lamp) established at the Sri Pada Viharaya at Adam's Peak was held on 7th February 2014 under the auspices of the Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
HE the President Mahinda Rajapaksa paid floral tribute from over Sri Pada from a Bell 412 Helicopter of the Sri Lanaka Air Force while the “Dolos-Mahe Pahana” and the bell tower were inaugurated by the Defence Secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
The Lamp and the Bell were airlifted previously to the top of the Sri Pada Mountain with the help of a MI-17 helicopter of SLAF Helitours.
