The Sri Lanka Air Force Excellence Awards 2013 was held at the ‘Eagles’ Lagoon View’ Banquet Hall of the Sri Lanka Air Force Katunayake on 27th June, 2014 with the participation of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke.  Organized for the 5th consecutive year, the event is held for the appreciation and motivation of meritorious work carried out by the men and women of the SLAF.

Based on criteria established by the respective directorates, finalists were nominated for consideration to be honoured for their outstanding performances in each trade and for their contribution to the development of the SLAF during the year 2013. Accordingly, the candidate who obtained the highest points from the selection process was awarded the Most Outstanding Airman trophy.

Flight Sergeant Herath HMC (Air Frame) of Aircraft Support Wing (ASW) at SLAF Base Ratmalana, the candidate who obtained the highest points of the selection round was awarded the Most Outstanding Airman trophy.

The Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala, Members of the Air Force Board of Management, Base Commander, SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Sudarshana Pathirana were also amongst the distinguished guests who attended at the invitation of the Chairman Organizing Committee, Air Commodore Andrew Wijesuriya.
