President visits Palaly Air Base
His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived at the Palaly Air Force base this morning (10 January 2009).
On his arrival he was received by the acting Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke, Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe the Commander of the Navy and the Inspector General of Police Mr. Mahinda Balasuriya.
He addressed a gathering of 1500 personnel from the three armed forces and police, thanking them for their invaluable contribution to liberate the nation from terrorism.
