A new Computer Training Laboratory was declared open at SLAF Stn Amparai by the Commanding Officer Group Captain Chaminda Wickramaratne on 09 March 2015.  Following the opening, the 1st Computer General Designer Course (Adobe illustrator) conducted at SLAF Stn Amp commenced under the directive of Director Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Air Vice Marshal Rohan Pathirage.

Having inaugurated the new facility the Commanding Officer delivered the opening address of the new computer course and emphasized that the Information technology lab was a long felt need of the station as a training establishment.

While thanking the AFHQ for providing all necessary support to develop the facility Commanding Officer thanked the Electronics and Civil Engineering Sections for their lead role in accomplishing the task that added an important facility to the station's infrastructure.
