282 male Gunners and 35 airwomen Gunners who successfully completed the no 91 Airmen Basic Gunner Course (TE 1) and no 08 Airwomen Basic Gunner Course (TE I) had their passing out ceremony from SLAF RTS Vanni on 10 Apr 2015 after completing 14 weeks of extensive training. focused on Drill, Weapon Training, Tactics, Map Reading and Firing exercise, Air Base Defence, Jungle Exercise and Physical Fitness. The course also entailed Basic skills such as English, leadership Training, Model briefing and Combat first aid.

Commanding Officer RTS Vanni Wing Commander Rukman Dassanayake graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was followed by an awarding ceremony to appreciate outstanding performers of the course. Sqn Ldr Buddika Bandara, Officer Commanding Training RTS Vanni and all instructors dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to make this course success.        

45257 AC Pradeep Kumara TAJ was awarded the Best all rounder of the No 91 Basic Airmen Gunner Course and AW 3751 AC Wjewardana KPIM was awarded the Best all rounder of the No 08 Basic Airwomen Gunner Course.
