No 05 ADRS Celebrates its 8th Anniversary

No. 05 Air Defence Radar Squadron celebrated its 8th anniversary on 24 May 2015. The squadron was established in year 2007 in SLAF Station Palavi as an operational arm of National Air Defence System. Since its inception, this squadron has played a vital role in safeguarding the National Air Space.
A series of events were organized to celebrate the formation day, under the guidance of Commanding Officer Sqn Ldr ECA Jayasundara.
The formation day parade was held and was followed by an 'Elle' tournament with the participation of all station personnel. The Occasion was graced by the Acting Commanding Officer, SLAF Station Palavi Sqn Ldr PGB Madagewatta and other senior officers.
A dinner was served for children in the "Lanka Brook" orphanage at Andigama followed with distribution of gift packs. Children were entertained with Calypso music while some of the residing girls also displayed their talents.
