Sri Lanka Air Force Base Ratmalana held its Avurudu Ulela (Sinhala & Tamil New year festival) today (10 April 2010).

The Base Commander Air Commodore Sumangala Dias graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the event. Further Commanding Officer of Aeronautical Support Wing Group Captain Priyantha Ranasinghe, Commanding Officer of No. 02 Squadron Group Captain Udeni Rajapaksha, Commanding Officer of No. 08 Squadron, Wing Commander Prasanna Ekanayaka , Commanding Officer of 27  Regiment Wing,  Wing Commander Sanjaya Fernando, Commanding Officer of Air Force Museum, Wing Commander Malinda Perera were also present.
 

A large crowd including the family members of the service and civil personnel were present. Most of the traditional games and events were held & prizes and gifts distributed at the conclusion of the event.
