MI 17 Helicopter Rotation to and From South Sudan

The first helicopter rotation of two MI-17 helicopters to and from SLAF Aviation Contingent in South Sudan (UNMISS) was completed successfully from 19 to 22 April 2018 through a UN provided AN-124 aircraft. These two Mi-17 helicopters were deployed for UN peacekeeping missions since 2015 and were eligible for rotation after serving the required period in the mission. The aircraft rotation was coordinated through SLAF UN Mission Cell under the supervision of C of S, DAO and DAE and the entire operation was done at Entebbe, Uganda. 

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
