Annual Commander's Inspection at SLAF Base Vavuniya

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy conducted the Commander's Inspection at Sri Lanka Air Force Base Vavuniya today (25 June 2018).
Prior to the inspection proper, the Commander reviewed the Commander's Inspection Parade commanded by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya Group Captain LH Sumanaweera.
During the course of the inspection the Commander visited all areas of the Base including No. 2 Air Defence Radar Squadron, No. 2 Mechanical Transport Repair and Overhaul Wing, No. 111 UAV Squadron and No. 23 Regiment Wing as well as the newly built family entertainment area ‘The Glider’.
The Commander also joined the customary all ranks lunch at the Airmen's Mess with a cross section of Officers, Airmen, Airwomen and Civilian Staff.
Concluding the Commander's Inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks including the civilian personnel and while encouraging all to strive for excellence he expressed his appreciation for all the hard work expended by all members of the Base towards maintaining and uplifting the standards of the base to the highest standards. At this time he further explained to the gathering that under his leadership, after completing over 67 years since inception, the SLAF has been able to publish our own ‘Air Force Doctrine’ and ‘The Vision 2025’ which are aimed towards standardizing all functions of the SLAF towards achieving greater heights.
