Large Crowds Flock to Weerawila on the Second Day of 'Mini Air Tattoo 2018'

Sri Lanka Air Force Mini Air Tattoo 2018, the air show and the educational exhibition at SLAF Station Weerawila continued for the second day when it opened free of charge to the public at 1400 hrs.
On its first day (20th July 2018), after the ceremonial opening by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, children as well as adults were seen thoroughly enjoying themselves. At the end of the first day of the exhibition a large crowd of over 13,000 had visited and enjoyed themselves. The musical extravaganza on the first day was by the Air Force Band while much more glamor was added by the Air Force Dancing Troop as well. The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Anoma Jayampathy was present for the evening of rhythmic music and colorful dancing by Air Force musicians and dancers.
On day 2, even larger crowds were seen heading eagerly to the exhibition grounds from morning.At the end of the second day the exhibition site was filled to capacity with the recorded entry of more than 32,500. Adding more significance to the event, the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy also arrived for the evening musical extravaganza where the Civil Security Department Band and dancers memorized the large crowd present. Due the large crowd that was present, the Commander extended the closing time until 12 midnight and the crowd could be seen expressing their appreciation of this gesture as they did not seem to want the night to end.
Sri Lanka Air Force Mini Tattoo 2018, now on at SLAF Station Weerawila, will continue today (22nd July 2018) as well from 1400 hrs to 2300 hrs. Today’s musical extravaganza will feature Purple Range and the Air Force Dancing Troop will once again add glamor to the music and make it a night to remember for the public who will be fortunate to witness the proceedings today.
