Commander’s Inspection of SLAF Base Katunayake – 2nd Session

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, conducted the Commander’s Inspection (2nd Session) of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake yesterday (12 October 2018).
During the course of the inspection the Commander visited all remaining areas of the base. Concluding the Commander’s Inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks of the base including the civilian personnel and commended their hard work to uplift and maintain the standards of the base. The Commander also emphasized the need to contribute towards the betterment of the Air Force, as well as of the entire nation at all times.
The Commander also awarded a field promotion to Flight Sergeant Prasanna Kumara KB who is an English Qualified Drill Instructor and was promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer. This is the first occasion that a Commander has awarded a field promotion during a Commander’s Inspection in the recent past.
