The Sri Lanka Air Force participated at the National Food Festival organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Food Promotion Board at Green Path. The festival commenced on the 7th of December 2018 and was held on the 8th and 9th as well.

The stall organized by the Command Agro Unit at Katunayake was recognized as the Best Stall at the festival and was awarded the Gold Award. The awarding ceremony was presided over by the Secretary of Defence, Mr. Hemasiri Fernando. The SLAF was represented by stalls organized by the Directorate of Logistics and SLAF Station Colombo.

The stall by the Command Agro Unit had many different food items such as Rice, Chicken, Pork, Coconuts, Curd, Yogurt, Butter, Vegetables, Fruits and Potted Plants as well. The stall by the Directorate of Logistics was made up of memorable food carvings.

The exhibition which was made up of 199 stalls was aimed at introducing many different food types among the general public and also to attract foreign tourists to the many delicacies of Sri Lanka
