Japan Sri Lanka Friendship Association Donates Three Fire Engines and an Ambulance to the SLAF

The Japan- Sri Lanka Friendship Association donated two Fire Engines, a Squad Fire Engine and an Ambulance to the Sri Lanka Air Force at a ceremony held at Air Force Headquarters, this morning (12 June 2019). The delegation led by Dr (Mrs). Eranga Thilakaratne and Mr. Goto Hideki, the President of Hitex Manufacturing Co-operation, ceremonially handed over documents pertaining to the said vehicles to the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias.
In addition, two scholarships were awarded to RG Shanika Maduwanthi from Polonnaruwa Puhulgasdamana Maha Vidyalaya and HA Arshana Navodi of Welimada Vijaya Vidyalaya. The delegation also handed over 200 pairs of Spectacles along with other items to be given to deserving people. The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Prabhavi Dias accepted the donations on behalf of the Seva Vanitha Unit.
A special cultural programme was held at the AFHQ Auditorium in appreciation of the donations, with the objective of making the day a memorable one for the Japanese delegation.
Members of the Air Force Board of Management, Officers and others ranks also witnessed the event.
