Winners of the “Guwan Siththara” All Island Art Competition
The Prize Giving Ceremony of the SLAF the “Guwan Siththara” All Island Art competition was held at Air Force Headquarters today (20th July 2019) under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias.
Fifteen (15) children who were adjudged winners in the Primary, Junior and Senior Student categories attended the Prize Giving Ceremony which was conducted at the AFHQ Auditorium. These winners were chosen out of over 63,000 participants from all corners of the island.
The winners were also treated to an unforgettable memory in the form of a helicopter ride on an Air Force MI-17 Helicopter from Colombo to Rathmalana Air Force Base. On arrival in Ratmalana the children were taken on a tour of the Air Force Museum as well. The winners left the Air Force premises with a day filled with unforgettable experiences in their hearts and minds.
This event was organized by Air Vice Marshal Rohintha Fernando supported by the Command Recruiting Officer of the Air Force, Air Commodore Amal Wimalaratne and the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Colombo, Air Commodore Waruna Gunawaradana.
