In the Defence Services Basket Ball finals, the Navy men and the Air Force women emerged Champions by defeating the Army and Navy respectively at Police Park last evening (20th august 2010).

In the encounter between the Army and Navy male cagers, the Navy scored 78-65 beating the Army convincingly. Lieutenant Antony Saundrarajah displayed his prowess throughout the tournament, scoring 24 points in the finals. The award for Best Defender went to Private Perera KKS of the Sri Lanka Army and Lieutenant Antony Saundrarajah was adjudged the Best Attacker.  

In the womens Basket Ball Final encounter between the Air Force and Navy, the Air Force women displayed their dominance by beating the Navy 32-20. Air women Amarasinghe recorded the highest score of 13 points. Air women Dodangoda CK and Amarasinghe VDL were adjudged Best Defender and Best Attacker respectively.   

The Army Headquarters Executive General, Major General EP De Z Abeysekara graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
