CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY OF NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS’ MANAGEMENT COURSES
8:30am on Friday 9th April 2021
The certificate awarding ceremony of No.13 English Medium and No.84 Sinhala Medium Non-Commissioned Officers’ Management Courses was held at the Astra Hall at SLAF Academy China Bay on 07 April 2021. Air Commodore AS Vithana USP, MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, BSc (Hons), psc, the Director Information Technology graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The primary objective of conducting NCO Management Courses is to develop academic, managerial knowledge and leadership qualities of Non-Commissioned Officers of the Air Force as well as other sister services. The courses are being conducted based on a well-formed syllabus over a scheduled period of 14 weeks and the courses are affiliated to the University of Rajarata. The Non-Commissioned Officers who have fulfilled the required criteria will be awarded with a Certificate in Management by the University of Rajarata.
The No.13 English Medium and No. 84 Sinhala Medium batches comprised of 66 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and 76 Junior Non-Commissioned Officers and 02 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers from Sri Lanka Navy. At the Ceremony 144 awardees received certificates to mark the successful completion of their respective courses.
Flight Sergeant Weeraddana WAS (Telephonist) secured the first place in the order of merit with an outstanding average 82.75 (SNCO category) for the No.13 English Medium Non-Commissioned Officers’ Management course.
Corporal Saman Kumara DT (Aero Electrical and Instrument) secured the first place in the order of merit with an outstanding average 82.28 (JNCO category) for the No.13 English Medium Non-Commissioned Officers’ Management course.
Sergeant Ipulwehera AMLC (Safety Equipment) secured the first place in the order of merit with an outstanding average 76.01 (SNCO category) for the No.84 Sinhala Medium Non-Commissioned Officers’ Management Course.
Corporal Abeysiriwardhana KS (Dental Technician) secured the first place in the order of merit with an outstanding average 80.95 (JNCO category) for the No.84 Sinhala Medium Non-Commissioned Officers’ Management Course.
Further, Non-Commission Officers received special awards during the ceremony.
