COMMANDER’S INSPECTION CARRIED OUT VIRTUALLY AT SLAF STATIONS IRANAMADU AND MULATIVU

The Commander’s Inspection is a customary event in the SLAF that Commander inspects all Stations physically to confirm the stipulated standards are preserved. However, this practice is continued virtually by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana yesterday (30 March 2022) with the Commanding Officers of SLAF Station Iranamadu, Group Captain Rukman Dassanayake and SLAF Station Mulativu, Group Captain, Ashad Liyanarachchige.
The formal presentations done by respective Commanding Officers and the discussions commenced between Commander of the Air Force and the both Commanding Officers focusing on development projects planned to conduct, problems and remedies on men and resources, infrastructure facilities in each establishment.
Meanwhile, a newly constructed Syndicate Room and Missile Simulator Room at Air Defence Gunnery Training School SLAF Station Iranamadu was declared open by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana on virtual platform for the first time in history in line with Commander’s Inspection.
This building consists with two rooms where one room is dedicated to Missile Simulator training and the other room is reserved for Method of Instructor Training (MOIT) and other training requirement of the Officers and Air Defence Gunners. Both rooms are well equipped with training aids.
The Commanding Officer, Group Captain Rukman Dassanayake supervised the construction of new building and the construction was carried out within a very short period of time by civil engineering staff of this Station.
Finally, the Commander appreciated the dedication made by both Stations for maintaining the standards to the expected level and encourages continuous progression of the development.
