Wing Commander Manjula Weerasinghe was designated as the President of the Sri Lanka Judo Association at the election held on 15 August 2022 in Dunconwite Auditorium at Ministry of Sports. Group Captain MASN Wijesinghe (Retd) and Ex- Warrant Officer MAAM Weerasinge were nominated as the Treasurer and the Chief Organizer respectively.

Wing Commander Weerasinghe held the appointments of General Secretary of Sri Lanka Judo Association from 2004 to 2006 and Secretary of the SLAF Judo Committee during 1999-2009.Wing Commander MP Weerasinghe was national Judo Champion for 10 years and he has been awarded Defence Services and Air Force colours for his international and national level performance.
