A DELEGATION OF HIGHER AIR COMMAND COURSE, INDIA VISITS AIR FORCE HEADQUARERS

A delegation of the Higher Air Command Course, India visited Air Force
Headquarters yesterday (20 March 2023).
On the study tour to Sri Lanka, a delegation of 19 officers was headed by Directing Staff, Group Captain Syed Muzaffar Yunus.
A few members of the delegation, including the head of the delegation, called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and symbolic mementos were exchanged to mark the event.Group Captain Nipuna Thanippuliarachchi, conducted a presentation for the course participants at the AFHQ Auditorium.
In the morning, the delegation paid tribute to the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during their tenure in Sri Lanka, by laying a floral wreath at the IPKF Memorial in Battaramulla. Group Captain Chandimal Hettarachchi, Group Captain Mangala Seneviratne and few officers from SLAF participated in the ceremony.
The day culminated with a cultural show performed by the troupes of the SLAF Directorate of Performing Arts. The Director General Training of the SLAF, Air Vice Marshal Bandhu Edirisighe, officers of the Indian Higher Air Command Course along with their spouses and a cross section of officers from the SLAF attended the mesmerizing evening. This show exhibited Sri Lankan traditional performing arts blended with captivating dance performances by the SLAF Dance Troupe.
