COMMANDER'S INSPECTION OF SLAF STATION KATUKURUNDA

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa conducted the Commander's Inspection of SLAF Station Katukurunda today (10 August 2023). The Acting Commanding Officer of the Station, Wing Commander PNJ De Silva received the Commander on his arrival.
During the course of the inspection the Commander visited all areas of the Station. Also, Commander inspected the projects undertaken by AR&DW which includes the indigenous Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System
.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the Commander awarded Certificates of Commendation to the following personnel for their meritorious contributions to the Station in particular and to the Air Force in general.

Civil S Samaraweera (Labor I)
Commander addressed all ranks of the station including the civilian personnel. During his address, he emphasized the fact that the Station Katukurunda being the aeronautical research entity in SLAF, plays a vital role in the SLAF’s research and development concerning the airpower of SLAF. Furthermore, he stressed that every member must strive to contribute 100% with unwavering Professional Excellence, Integrity and Discipline, to ensure the pursuit of 'excellence in all what we do' within the context of the professional Air Force. Finally, the Commander commended the Commanding Officer and his team for their hard work in preparing the station to the standard required for the Commander’s Inspection.
