14TH CISM WORLD MILITARY GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2023
In a gesture of camaraderie and sporting spirit, a twelve-member Defence Service Delegation has participated in the highly anticipated 14th CISM World Military Golf Championship 2023. The championship is scheduled to take place from 01 to 08 October 2023, in the picturesque city of San Diego, California, USA. The event has the potential to be a thrilling platform for military golfing talent from across the globe, with representatives from various defense services vying for glory on the lush fairways and manicured greens of San Diego's renowned golf courses.
Leading the delegation as the Chief of Mission is Air Vice Marshal Udula Wijesinghe from the SLAF. Furthermore, Lieutenant Colonel PGTUB Jayarathna, Major General AHLG Amarapala, and Major General SA Kulathunga from the SL Army, along with Captain PM Mummullage and Captain PVT Mahesh from the SL Navy, as well as Group Captain JG Jayalath and Wing Commander WMTGPS Wijekoon from the SLAF, are the members representing the Sri Lankan Military.
The 14th CISM World Military Golf Championship offers not only an opportunity to display golfing prowess but also to raise worldwide connections and camaraderie among military personnel. Participants will engage in spirited competition, promoting the values of sportsmanship and teamwork while representing Sri Lanka.
