In line with the 73rd anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force, a Jack sapling handing-over programme was conducted by SLAF Station Katukurunda on 10 January 2024. The event, graced by the presence of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain MP Abeywickarma and senior police officials from SSP Division Kalutara, aimed to distribute approximately 1000 Jack saplings to 16 "Praja police" divisions within the Kalutara SSP Division. During the gathering, a briefing was conducted on the Guwan Hamuda Herali Peraliya programme, with participation from OICs of all "Praja police" units, outlining the initiative to plant these saplings in their respective areas.
