SLAF Academy China Bay turns 60

Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay celebrated its 60th formation day on 3 April 2011. The academy which provides extensive training for various facets of the Air Force has a long list of illustrious alumni who have walked through its doors.
A parade held at the Academy Parade Ground commenced the 60th formation day celebrations. Air Vice Marshal Kapila Jayampathy took the salute while Wing Commander TVD Deshapriya led the formation as Parade Commander. In the role of Parade Adjutant was Flying Officer RMJ Ratnayake.
Subsequent to the parade, a cricket tournament was held at the premises to continue the celebrations in a more spirited manner. A prize giving held after the tournament brought the day's proceedings to a close.
