JAPAN – SRI LANKA FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION EXTENDS ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY

The Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Association celebrated a significant occasion today, (25 May 2024) with the official opening of a newly constructed building at Thalkote Primary School.
The ceremony was marked by the presence of representatives from the Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Association, including the President of Suntecbios Company, Mr. Hideaki Goto and the President of Global Company, Ms. Syogetsu Kin, who funded the construction. Furthermore, the construction project was undertaken with generous skilled labour assistance from SLAF Station Sigiriya and the Construction Engineering Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake.
During the opening ceremony, five scholarships were awarded to deserving students, and essential school supplies were donated.
The occasion was attended by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Sigiriya, Group Captain Viranga Premawardana, the Vice President of the Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Association, Dr. Eranga Hasanthi along with officers and members of the station, as well as children, parents and staff of Thalkote Primary School.
