COMMANDER'S INSPECTION OF SLAF ACADEMY CHINA BAY FOR THE YEAR 2024

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, conducted the Commander's Inspection of Sri Lanka Air Force Academy in China Bay today (27 June 2024). Prior to the inspection proper, the Commander reviewed the Commander's Inspection Parade commanded by the Commandant of SLAF Academy China Bay, Air Commodore RADTM Weeraratne.

Certificates of Commendation were awarded by the Commander to the following service personnel in recognition of their outstanding and meritorious services towards the activities of the Academy and the entire Air Force.

   Flight Sergeant Thennakoon TMPB  (Ground Steward III)
   Sergeant Pathirana PU (Operations Ground SP I)

During the course of the inspection, the Commander visited the areas of Academy Headquarters, Academic Wing, all Clubs and Messes, No. 24 Regiment Wing, Ground Training Wing, Accommodation areas of trainees at the Academy, Officer Cadets’ Mess, Junior Command and Staff College, Non-Commissioned Officers’ Management School, No. 1 Flying Training Wing and the No. 3 Maritime Squadron.

Addressing all personnel of the Academy at the conclusion of the inspection, the Commander expressed his appreciation for their hard work in maintaining the Academy, up to the required standards. During his address, the Commander reminded that this academy has played a pivotal role in producing professional military personnel and quality aviation professionals to serve the Sri Lanka Air Force. In addition, the Commander expressed his future visions for creating the SLAF further technologically advanced in order to elevate the capabilities and operational values of the SLAF and its service personnel.
