The newly built central hub for the Command Welfare Shop Fund (CWSF) was declared open today (14th June 2011) by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama at SLAF Base Ratmalana.

This Colombo based Central hub was shifted to Ratmalana due to the lack of space to store an adequate stock of goods. At present two new pre- fabricated buildings have been erected  to facilitate  the storage and for administrative purposes and another pre-fabricated building is to be erected in due course.

The Commander opened the central hub by cutting the ribbon.     This was followed by religious activities to bless the new project. This central hub will collect goods produced by the SLAF as well as goods from outside organizations in order to provide a continuous supply to SLAF personnel at reasonable prices.

The Air Force Board of Management, Base Commander of SLAF Base Ratmalana Air Commodore Sumangala Dias, Command Welfare Project Officer Group Captain JSI Wijemanna and senior Officers were present at the event.
